To emPOWER & enCOURAGE by providing SHOES---as a FIRST STEP on the Path to PEACE!!! Each individual Special Event which will be held...seeks to facilitate the WAMMS intention through a two-part process:
1. Collect gently-worn SHOES to be shared with those who have no SHOES at all & to answer the 'prayer' of an Army Medic stationed in Afganistan...who is My inspiration.
2. Encourage the support & sponsorship of the boxes of SHOES...which will then be shipped to sites around the world.
NOTE: Estimated cost per 20x20x20SHOEBox: $40.00+

With PEACE as the motivation, it is My privilege to share the following
WAMMS introduction with You.
My lingering question over recent years has been:
*How can one little ol' disabled Lady, living on SSI, serve another?
*How can one person "Make a Difference" in the lives of others?
Well, the question has a GOOD NEWS answer...gently emBRACED within this
Introductory message. Just recently, a special Project which I have entitled:
WALK A MILE IN MY SHOES...on the PATH to PEACE!!!"
has been 'whispered' to My Heart & while the intention of this incredible project...IGNITES & motivates & inspires, I had to SMILE when I realized that the abbreviation for "WALK A MILE IN MY SHOES"~~~is WAMMS. Emeril Lagasse has BAM...We, now have WAMMS!!! Giggle!!!
"WALK A MILE IN MY SHOES" was born as a result of a a comment from a
deLIGHTful lady, named VIANNA BRUCE, representing Central Arizona Blue
Star Mothers (1) & Her Military Moms Support Group who gather together on the last Wednesday of each month to assemble "PACKAGES from HOME" for our Troops in AFGANISTAN & IRAQ.
During our introduction, She indicated that one of Her Mom's reports from Her Medic Son...stationed in AFGANISTAN, that the thing that is needed most...on the ground, are CHILDRENS SHOES. He states that the Children walk...miles to the US Military Clinics...barefoot...but before the Medics can address their current medical issue...they must first care for their battered feet.
This 'fact' stirred Me & I simply could NOT get it out of My thoughts.
By morning, the concept of WAMMS materialized.
Its ALL about the Children...therefore, Invite OUR CHILDREN to collect & donate gently-worn shoes which will then be shipped to AFGANISTAN & IRAQ to fulfill the 'Prayer' of our Young Medic.
WOW!!! What a far-reaching example/exercise in encouraging PEACE in the World & in our communities. WAMMS can/will serve as an incredible
Geography lesson...reMINDing Our Children (specifically here in AZ) that children walk barefoot in temperatures higher than Ours here in AZ.
Through WAMMS, there is an opportunity to participate in a deLIGHTful
humanitarian project. While, truly, exercising & encouraging PEACE
amongst the Children of the World.
Well~~~today, WAMMS is set be begin this project through collecting
SHOES...at USA SkateLand (3) Roller Skating Parties locally. An added
detail of WAMMS will be: Including a scrolled 'note' from the WAMMS
Communication Station...written by the child sharing the Shoes to the
child receiving the 'gift'.
In addition, WAMMS will encourage the Sponsorship of Boxes in order to
dispatch/ship the shoes to each site.
SPECIAL NOTE: reSEARCH with the Post Office indicates that the
shipping of a 20x20x20 ReadiPost box will cost approximately $40.00+ for each box shipped.

Roller Skating Rink where in the mid-80's, it was My great joy to serve in the capacity of Public Relations Director for SKATE JUNCTION in West Covina, CA.
